“The Man Called X” was an espionage radio drama that aired on CBS and NBC from July 10, 1944 to May 20, 1952. The series was created by Jay Richard Kennedy, who later adapted the radio drama to a 39 episode syndicated television series for Ziv Television. Starring Barry Sullivan, it ran from 1956 – 57. The TV show followed Sullivan’s ‘Agent Ken Thurston,’ who took on dangerous cases in a variety of exotic locations. He was sent all around the world by the Intelligence Bureau to gather information and protect U.S interests. His code name was simply “X”.
