‘Quentin Durward’ is a historical novel by Walter Scott, first published in 1823. The story, which takes place in 1468, concerns a Scottish archer serving under French King Louis XI (1423–1483) during the age of feudalism and chivalry. The story starts with the King of France inciting the wealthy citizens of Flanders against his own rebellious vassal the Duke of Burgundy. It continues with murder, political intrigue, rebellion, escapes from forced marriages, a love story, executions, and war . . . so what are you waiting for? Pick up your copy today!
