Phineas Taylor Barnum is remembered primarily for the founding of the Barnum and Bailey Circus, but he was also a writer, politician, businessman and showman, most explicitly shown in the most recent film ‘The Greatest Showman’. This autobiographical work is Barnum’s account of his experiences, but as was known about Barnum, he often exaggerated or expounded on stories he told to further their entertainment value.
