Original and deluxe leather bindings of 3/4 chestnut brown morocco. Very heavy volumes. Five raised bands per spine with gilt accents. Gilt lettered direct. Gilt decorative devices in spine compartments, along with tooled designs. Gilt ruling to boards. Elaborate gilt titling and gilt pictorial illustration to front boards. All edges of text blocks are gilded and bright. Bindings are solid. Marbleized endpapers, with remain free from Ex Libris plates. Beveled boards. About a 2" x 2" square of cloth absent from back board of Volume I. Top of front joint just starting. Otherwise, minor wear to extremities. A handsome copy.
